It's always awkward to start a blog out for me, so I will just introduce myself. My name is Steven Grim, and I will be Brian's intern this summer.
I grew up in Tulsa and was in Brian's youth group at the Church at BattleCreek, and currently go to Oklahoma Baptist University and am majoring in Youth Ministry. For the last five years, Brian has served as a mentor and role model for me as I pursue the call to enter full time ministry. He is truly a man of God, and always serves as a positive example for me when I watch him interact not only with students, but with his family, friends, and co-workers.
This summer provides an opportunity for me to learn under Brian, to spend time with him and the other leaders of Grand Family so that I can grow in my relationship with God and with others. The summer also provides a time for me to invest in student's lives. From my first day on the job, Brian told me my number one priority was spending time with students. Building relationships with teenagers is something that is needed so much in today's culture, and it is a tremendous blessing to work with Brian and a staff that understands the crucial nature of community.
I believe whole-heartedly that God has something huge in store for element student ministries and Grand Family Church this summer. I am humbled that the Lord gave me this opportunity to influence the lives of teenagers in the River Valley for Him.
I am looking forward to meet everybody this summer and getting to know the students. If I can do anything to help you, please let me know!
