Find ways to Connect with Parents. Be aggressive and intentional.
Let Parents see your heart and know your purpose. Don’t be afraid to let them see you as Pastor, and not just a cool young guy that dresses and talks like their teenager!
No matter where you’re at with this, Increase your communication with Parents!!!
Ask for advice and suggestions.
Don’t be afraid to admit mistakes or failures. (covering this up will cause them to not trust you in the future, so don’t be afraid to fall on the sword every once in a while.)
Spend TIME with Parents. (My personal model is 60/20/20) 60% with my Students, 20% will my Adult Volunteers, 20% with Parents
Serve your Parents. Find ways to serve them when service isn’t expected.
