The 12 - Successful People List

Here is the challenge I gave on THE 12 to be successfull in what you do:

Successful people enjoy their work.
Prvbs. 14:23 23 All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.
28:19; 23 All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.
Col. 3:23 23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men

They have a sense of purpose and are having the time of their lives doing their work.
Are you having Fun Serving? How can you make it more FUN? CEO’s who love their job do so b/c they are having fun not just b/c they are making good money…

They have a positive attitude and plenty of confidence.
Phil. 2:5; 5 Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:
1 Pt 4:1 Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because he who has suffered in his body is done with sin

The successful never seem to doubt that they will achieve and when they do, it contributes even more strongly to their self-esteem.
Do students see your confidence in them and in your small group? Do they see you trusting God to do great things in the group? Positive Spirits are contagious.

They use negative experiences to discover their strengths.
Negative Experiences can make you give up and quite or make you stronger..
Phil 4:13

They are decisive, disciplined goal setters.
Prvbs. 1:7; 7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.
5:23; 23 For these commands are a lamp,this teaching is a light,
2 Tim 1:7 7 For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self‑discipline

Most achievers have a clear idea what they want out of life and they take the shortest route to go after it.

They have integrity and help others succeed.
Prvbs. 10:9; 9 The man of integrity walks securely, but he who takes crooked paths will be found out.
11:3; 3 The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity.
Titus 2:7 7 In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness

They are persistent.
Lk 18: 1-5 Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. 2 He said: “In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared about men.
3 And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, ‘Grant me justice against my adversary.’ 4 “For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, ‘Even though I don't fear God or care about men,
5 yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won't eventually wear me out with her coming!’ ”

Founder of McDonald's, Ray Kroc, was turned down eight times when he applied for a loan to start his chain, but he persisted and kept improving until he got the money.

They take risks.
Acts 14:19-20 19 Then some Jews came from Antioch and Iconium and won the crowd over. They stoned Paul and dragged him outside the city, thinking he was dead.
20 But after the disciples had gathered around him, he got up and went back into the city. The next day he and Barnabas left for Derbe.

Few people ever get to the top without sticking their necks out - and when successful people make mistakes, they shrug them off and go on with their lives.

Fail Fwd

They have developed good communication and problem solving skills.

If they can't come up with an answer, they actively seek suggestions from others.

They surround themselves with competent, responsible and supportive people.
Prvbs. 12:26; 26 A righteous man is cautious in friendship, but the way of the wicked leads them astray
22:24, 24 Do not make friends with a hot-tempered man,do not associate with one easily angered,
1 Cor. 15:33 33 Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.”

No matter how smart or creative a person might be, he must have others he can trust.

They are healthy, have high energy levels and schedule time to renew themselves.
Rom. 12:1-2 1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God–this is your spiritual act of worship.
2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will.

This revitalization is so important to them that successful people conscientiously schedule time slots for activities or rest that will help them feel energized again.
