CONWAY,
Ark. (AP) - Fort Smith Southside's David Harris tackled Conway's Isaiah Jackson
for a 6-yard loss Friday night on a 2-point conversion attempt with 9 seconds
left in the game, preserving the No. 5 Rebels' 14-13 victory over the Wampus
Cats.
The teams were tied at 7 points each at halftime, and the third period
was scoreless.
Daniel McGee gave the Rebels (2-0) a 14-7 lead on a 4-yard
touchdown run with 9:51 left in the game.
But Conway (0-2) drove 77 yards in
eight plays to pull within a point at 14-13 when Dakota Cornett scored from 1
yard out.
Jackson, however, couldn't make it to the end zone on a sweep
around left end that wouldn have given Conway the win.
